I wanted to share with you this fabulous wallpaper which is one of the reasons I fell in love with our house before we bought it! The room is on the first floor and is the first bedroom you come to as you hit the top of the stairs. As soon as I saw it, I fell in love with it. I have never really been a hardcore wallpaper fan, but, there was something about this crazy patterned paper which adorns all 4 walls.
The room was decorated in the mid 1970’s and this psychedelic pattern was the height of trendiness. The seventies was all about bucking tradition and breaking free from the normal constraints of life. Perfect if you are a rebel at heart!
Loud colours, punchy prints and far out fabrics were all the rage. I think I was born in the wrong era!
So here is the much anticipated wallpaper…. (I must warn you, it’s a bit like marmite and a lot of my friends think I am crazy for being so in love with it. And yes – it is staying!! I have big plans!)

Another close up shot of the pattern….

Love the vast array of colours which feature in the wallpaper – the photos don’t do it justice! There are pale pinks, peaches, soft yellows, lavender, seafoam green…. the list goes on.
It might be slightly faded and sun bleached in patches and some of the joins are now a bit visible, I still love it all the same. I hope you do too!

I have big interior design plans to compliment this wallpaper – just wait and see!
The first thing to go will be that dated and threadbare carpet. Some lovely floorboards underneath which I can uncover!
So, what do you think? Are you a fan? Or, would you be getting that wallpaper stripper out immediately?!
